The sages ruled through an understanding of the ultimate authority of the universe, T’ien, and thus could properly be called T’ien-tzu, or “Son of Heaven.” They were said to rule under the authority of T’ien ming, the “Mandate of Heaven. following Heaven’s Authority.

Jen /Humaneness “compas-sion,”“altruism,”“goodness,”“human-heartedness,”“humanity,” “love,” “kindness,” / proper relation between two individuals. t defines the basic relationship between people in a way that respects the moral integrity of the individual and his or her relation to others.
Demonstrates conscientiousness toward others, a sense of being concerned about people’s well-being, and acts toward others with nurturing care and consideration.
jen also has a level of sympathy, or empathy—the capacity to share in the feelings of others and to express one’s own concern for any plight or misfortune that might befall them.

“Do not do to others what you would not have them do to you.”

Filial Piety. At the heart of the notion of filial piety is the idea that one’s body is a gift from one’s parents and, for this reason, should be harmed as little as possible.
